Hello Fish Fans, The constantly changing wind directions have kept the weeds scattered about. It’s been a nightmare picking weeds off the lines but that’s where the fish are so we keep on picking. There’s allot of small dolphin so we catch a dozen and throw a dozen back. Our best dolphin action last week was 15 to 18 miles out in 600 to 800 feet of water.
Sailfish, kingfish and bonito have been providing the action closer to shore. The summer sailfish are hanging around the reefs and wrecks and eager to play the game. If you don’t like the sporty seas of winter and want to catch a few sailfish now’s the time.
All is good in the Bahamas. We fished from Walkers Cay to Green Turtle Cay and found an excellent tuna bite everywhere we’ve been. The Yellowfin Tuna have consistently been 40 to 50 miles off the Bahama Bank, 50 off Walkers/Grand Cay and 40 miles off Green Turtle. Black Fin and Skipjack Tuna are abundant from 15 to 25 miles off the Bank. The deep dropping and reef fishing is excellent as usual.
